  Waking up to TTATT: Blessing or Curse?

  if you take the red pill, you'll have knowledge, you'll be awakened, aware of reality, you'll have freedom.. if you take the blue pill, you stay in your bubble, wearing rose colored glasses, and feel security in an illusion.. taking the red pill isn't something that's easy to do.

  to accept that everything around you is an illusion built up on lies or half truths.

  but hey, it might feel good to be aware and break free from this illusion.

  When I think of the Matrix, Neo was unsatisfied by the life he had in the Matrix. But when he left, it was hard. A whole way of life gone - Replaced with crummy food and uncomfortable living conditions. But once he found people he could rely on and trust, he got his life going again.

  I haven't found friends in the world and that is because I haven't pushed myself. I hate that I'm old and out of shape and have crummy coping skills.

  But I would never go back to the lies. I hate how they use people. They are worse than parasites because it is a thinking choice to take advantage of others.

  And like a previous poster said, I also mourn all of the dead in history that will never get another chance. Even if I didn't expect to be in paradise, I wanted my grandma who was the nicest sweetest person and was disabled most of her adult life, to be young and healthy again.

  i want to know the latest trend in jw land.

  after i have disassociated from jw land last year, now my father has forced me to write a reinstatement letter.

  and i will soon be reinstated back very soon because those cult elders will meet with me.

  Well I can't really help you in what is new in JW land because they keep changing so fast but, Sorry you have to go back.

  Do you have to live at home still? I hope that you'll be able to leave sooner rather than later because life is for living and you can't really do that if you are having to fake being a JW.

  A politician couldn't have given a better speech. It gives no specifics as to what help they will receive and they repeat it at least three times about help now and in the future. The only specific action spoken of, is what a JW should do. Keep your spiritual routine. Give emotional and spiritual support to others.

  I remember reading about how witnesses in Japan came to the meetings in slippers and sleepware because that is all they had. I'm sure we will hear of similar stories from this. Probably heroic CO's braving the devastation to give a talk. I bet they ask for donations too.

  Any new style Video Funeral yet?

  the appalling funeral outlines over the years quickly skip over the personal details of the deceased, on to the wt advertising and use of the opportunity to mesmerise a captive audience.

  but is a video of caleb and sophia mourning their grandparents on the way, “we sure miss grandad but how thrilling his donation example was...” do sisters gyrate to the music and clap hands, is the new light style witness meeting by video on the way, dont bother going to bro xs funeral, it on jw.dead broadcasting, with a page up to show his will bequests to the wt, ranked by amount, 5 star funeral over £10,000 bequest in will, no bequest a one line mention.

  so much changed, dead witnesses would be horrified by changes, for the poorer witness with no meney left to wt overlapping online funerals for lots of poor people at once, no individual ceremony.

  Funny how you should mention Caleb and Sophia. You may be right about a funeral video - at least in Sophia's future.

  I was appalled at the kid's vid on Jworg that showed Sophia "reaching out" to an old married sister. Sophia had a good time and was glad she "reached out" (It was a terrible vid for several reasons, but I won't go into it)

  The thing is, the next vid showed Sophia and her mom in the old sister's hospital room. Obviously, the sister wasn't going to make it.

  Sophia tearfully asks her mom "why can't Jehovah just make her well?" The mom went into explaining how Jehovah has already done great things for the sister by Jesus's ransom sacrifice. So basically, don't be sad be happy for the sister because you will see her in paradise.

  The funeral would be a nice ending to the story don't you think? Then they could rejoice that the sister gave everything to the WT.

  Did you ever buy into 1975?

  for those of you that can remember.... did you really believe that armageddon was going to come in 1975?

  i was a child of the 60s, in my teens in the 70s and can honestly say that i never bought into it.

  i saw brothers and sisters selling their homes and moving into rented property.

  I believed it like I believed everything else they said. Since I knew that God would kill me at armageddon, it was terrifying. I remember the part of the talk where the speaker said that it had been 6,000 years that Adam had been created. How long did it take for him to name the animals? Not long. How long after that was Eve created? Not long. So brothers and Sisters, it won't be long for the new order to be here. You could have heard someone cough on the other side of the stadium because the audience was silent. (this isn't word for word but you get the idea)

  The WT has on several occasions in the past years, mocked those that sincerely followed what the Society said. Hahaha laughing even. Cruel evil money loving jerks. I mean those that are in the shadows behind the GB. The GB are over inflated ego loving jerks.

  Coping With Parents' Becoming Jehovah's Witnesses

  my sister recently wrote a short piece on the impact of our parents' becoming jehovah's witnesses in the 1950s.

  she was a teenager at the time.

  what is so striking and disturbing is that the same predicament faces so many teenagers to this day.

  That's great that she escaped and had support doing it. There are some on the board that are of that age and I hope it helps them.

  It's fortunate that she had a strong sense of life outside the JW world. Those like me who were drug to meetings at 5, or were born in, knew nothing else.

  I like the part about the rewards program. Do you get extra points in Paradise? Maybe points go towards being a MS or Elder. For sisters, points towards Head of the Cleaning Crew?

  Laziness of JW parents?

  it seems that many witness parents are simply taking the lazy option when it comes to raising their children.. by this i mean, they will happily outsource the education of their kids to the ready-made information on jwdotorg.. need to keep the toddler busy?

  just stick him in front of a colourful caleb and sophia cartoon.

  or lets play coloring-in on ready made pictures of bible characters getting killed.. need to manipulate the mind of your growing child?

  I recently checked out a kid vid there. Poor Caleb had a talk with all those hard biblical names in it. What was Dad's solution? Practice with Caleb on how to say them? NO He had a much better way. Talk about God's name and how it means He will help you with those difficult names.

  So Dad didn't have to spend time with Caleb except to pray. Amazingly, Caleb could pronounce them all! Now Caleb knows that instead of bugging dad for help, he should just pray.

  How Many Here EVER Considered Going Back To Meetings?

  The last few meetings were excruciating. I had to keep my head down so no one saw my mouth drop open at the audacity of the Governing Body to use scriptures to boast about themselves. Have you ever experienced sleep walking? Where you believe you are at a certain place or doing something and it is real - until you realize that it can't be true and you are dreaming? The scene suddenly dissolves and you see what is really there.

  Going back would be like going to an episode of the Twilight Zone. You'd see people who don't know that they are in a never ending dream. Anyone see "Dark City"? Always riding the train trying to get to the beach and never arriving.
